Enterprise Risk Management aims to identify hazards and taking the necessary actions to mitigate losses to an acceptable level. In a lot of instances, risk cannot be removed. At best they can only be minimised or transferred. Hence whilst every steps are taken to manage those risks, there must be in place a business continuity plans to enable businesses to recover following an operational crisis or disaster.
Unlike Emergency Response plans which comprised of plans to address specific hazards/crisis; BCM focuses on the impact rather than the cause of the crisis or disaster.
BCM ensures that the company is able to recover following a crisis or disaster even at a degraded level so that it is able to remain resilient to safeguard the interest of their interested parties whilst maintaining their brand and reputation.
The BCM consultancy by Sterling Risk Solutions aligns to Disaster Recovery Institute phases of implementation with reference to ISO 22301 standards. |
